Obituary for William Hebblethwaite

Retired Funeral Director of Brown Funeral Homes

William Gene Hebblethwaite, age 82, of Logan, Ohio, passed away June 29, 2023, at Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Bill was born December 2, 1940, in Hillsdale County, Michigan to Ransom W. and Dora S. Hebblethwaite. He was a 1958 graduate of Edon-Northwest High School; attended Bowling Green State University and was a graduate of Cincinnati Mortuary College; a veteran of the US Army; worked at Thompson Funeral Home; owned and operated the Hebblethwaite Funeral Home in Hicksville, Ohio; worked at Don Mocherman Reality; worked as a funeral director at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio from 1982 until he retired in 2006; treasurer of Murray City Monument Company; member of the City of Logan Zoning Board; and was a member of and served as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Logan, Ohio.    

Surviving are his wife, Kay Hebblethwaite; children, Michael L. (Michele) Hebblethwaite, Carla K. (Robert) Williams, Steven K. (Kellie) Hebblethwaite, Nancy E. (Russell) Holbrook, and Johanna (Michael) McIntosh; grandchildren, Nicholas (Janel) Hebblethwaite, Tyler (Gabby) Hebblethwaite, Ana Gross, Logan Holbrook, Clara (Justin) Dower, and Colin McIntosh; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Glenda Hebblethwaite.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a future date.

Bill’s family ask, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Logan 2 W. Hunter St. Logan, Ohio 43138 or to the Pickering House 282 Sells Rd. Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
