Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, an independent, family-owned funeral home in Amherst, Ohio, is seeking a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for full-time employment. Established in August 2009, our funeral home features a beautiful and unique facility equipped with modern technology. We take pride in offering compassionate, personalized service to the families we serve.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated professional who is committed to providing exceptional care and support to families during their time of need. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and capable of handling all aspects of funeral service with professionalism and sensitivity.
Responsibilities:
- Meet with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services.
- Conduct funeral and memorial services with professionalism and compassion.
- Perform embalming, cosmetizing, dressing, and casketing of remains.
- Complete necessary documentation, including death certificates, obituaries, and other required paperwork.
- Maintain accurate records and input data into the funeral home’s computer system.
- Assist with general errands and logistical tasks related to funeral services.
- Help maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Funeral Director and Embalmer license (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities in a timely manner.
- Proficiency in computer applications related to funeral home operations.
- A compassionate and professional demeanor when working with grieving families.
- Willingness to assist with all aspects of funeral service, including on-call responsibilities.
