Donald R. Mosti, 97, of Steubenville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Valley Hospice. Born on September 21, 1927, in Pittsburgh, PA, Don's 97 years of life were marked by dedication, service, and love for his family. He was the son of the late Eugene and Edith Pompei Mosti. He returned to his hometown, where he became a cornerstone of the community. Don owned and operated the Mosti Funeral Home, a role he performed with exceptional dedication and pride, working into his early 90s and holding his licensure for over 75 years. His commitment to serving families during their times of loss was unparalleled, and he took great pride in ensuring that every detail of the funeral process was handled with care and respect.

He was a loving grandfather to his four grandsons, Jared (Jessica) Mosti, Justin (Alyssa) Mosti, Christopher (Megan) Mavromatis, and George (Amanda) Mavromatis. His legacy continues to grow with his great-grandchildren, Westlyn, Rhett, Harper, Cade, Annie, Alice, and one on the way, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don was a man of many interests. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and farming.  He also had a long time hobby of amateur radio operation, which he would talk to people from all over the world. His passion for area athletics was evident, as he was a steadfast supporter of Big Red & Central football, along with many other sports. A devout Catholic and member of Triumph of the Cross Parish, Don's faith was a cornerstone of his life as he never missed Sunday mass. He was a long time member of Knights of Columbus Council #472, Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, Steubenville Serra Club and Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.

Donald lived a life that was full, not just in years, but in the countless lives he touched. His was a life well-lived, and his legacy will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Don's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he so selflessly served.
