John Evans Elected President of the APFSP Board of Trustees

 

John W. Evans, CFSP, has been elected to serve as President of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. He will serve a two year term. Mr. Evans was installed by APFSP Past President J. Daniel Hutcheson, CFSP, in Philadelphia, PA, on October 23, 2016.

Mr. Evans is a Lifetime member of the Academy who is the owner of the Evans Funeral Home and Excursions by Evans limousine service in Norwalk, Ohio.  He is a Past President of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association and is very active in his community. John holds degrees from the University of Redlands and Cypress College, both in California.

Incorporated in 1976, the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice is one of the oldest organizations providing a program for professional certification in the United States.  With almost 2,400 members worldwide, 1,700 of whom have achieved the designation of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner, the Academy offers a voluntary certification program for funeral service practitioners to accomplish educational, professional, and community oriented goals in an organized fashion, recognizing funeral directors who raise and improve the standards of funeral service.
