Harold B. Kreitzer

OFDA received word this afternoon that Harold B. Kreitzer, 88, of Arcanum died Wednesday June 4, 2008. Harold was born in Brookville, Ohio on February 13, 1920, the son of the late Howard and Nora (Reitz) Kreitzer.

Harold was active in the funeral business since 1939 and bought the funeral home in 1950. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer and a member of the Ohio Funeral Directors Association for over 60 years. He was still semi-active in the business which he ran with his son.

He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Arcanum Fire Department, former member and one of the founders of the Arcanum Community Rescue and a former member of the Arcanum Lion's Club.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Tootie (Niemeyer) Kreitzer who died December 28, 1991 and a brother Robert Kreitzer. He is survived by two sons, Marc Kreitzer and wife Linda, and Michael Kreitzer and wife Ann; grandchildren, Krystal (Jesse) Bosley, April (Chad) Wolfe, Thomas Kreitzer and fiance' Maggie Wiggens, Leslie (Will) Mitchell and Amy (Brian) Brame; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Brittaney, Joshua, Jackson, Molley and Mia.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM, Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, 204 North Main Street, Arcanum. Burial will follow in Newcomer Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, June 8 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home.
